The Smartphone-Free Choice

How do I know they're safe for my children?

  • Pocket Money Cards are UKCA and CE safety-certified.
  • We only use food-safe inks and we don't use plastics. You could even eat the cards. We don't recommend the taste though.
  • We tested flammability by holding a card for 5 seconds in a naked candle flame. The card crinkled, but it did not catch light.
  • The cards have rounded corners to guard against paper cuts and protect little eyes.

How many cards in a pack?

There are 101 cards in every pack of Pocket Money Cards:

  • 80 different housework chore cards

Are Pocket Money Cards an ethical choice?

Pocket Money Cards are a great ethical choice for an educational card game:

  • Forest Stewardship Council paper is used to make the cards and packs, so you know that Pocket Money Cards are made from sustainable source materials.
  • We don't use plastics, so the cards can be recycled easily.
  • Made In England, (in Cambridgeshire) just 60 miles from where they were designed in Suffolk, saving transportation miles and CO2 emissions and helping our low carbon footprint.

What ages are Pocket Money Cards for?

  • Harvard University's Grant study found that children engaged with housework chores before the age of 14 become the most fulfilled, healthy adults so we suggest using Pocket Money Cards between the ages of 4 and 14.
  • Pocket Money Cards can also help students away from home for the first time, flatmates and house-shares.
  • Who knows? They might also work on husbands (Terms and Conditions apply).

Can Pocket Money Cards be used In schools?

  • Of course, several teachers are already recommending the packs.
  • Contact us and we'll even give a Schools Multi-Pack Discount to encourage it.

Are Pocket Money Cards guaranteed to get my kids doing housework?

  • We can't guarantee miracles, but sometimes we can help them happen.
  • Just like your family, the game rests on co-operation, so you have to set the scene. Call a family gathering once a week. Get everyone around a table, no phones, no distractions and talk about what good things everyone did that week, what's happening next week, what they all enjoyed and what needs to be done in the week to come, to keep everyone comfortable, warm, fed and happy. That's when the game comes into its own.
  • It's all about balance, calmness, stability, encouragement and mutual support. Creating a home where everyone helps each other to be the best they can be, together.

They thought it was a cute idea!

"It's a tool to add to ways to encourage kids to help about the house, and learn life-skills. It maybe delayed arguments, temporarily! Make it more complex for older kids, categories, points building, more gamification., linked to wider strategies, allowances, task reminders."

"A game for the whole family, encouraging helpfulness. We felt it was for primary-aged children. It has lots of ideas for things to get children involved in. The cards are great quality.
